Edith Rose Smith

Edith Rose Pinney Plummer Smith, 79, of York, SC formerly of Stanley, NC went to be with the Lord March 3, 2012 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. Edith was born in McArthur, OH September 29, 1932 to the late Clement and Vona Pinney. Edith came to know and love the Lord early in life. She graduated Valedictorian from Zulaski High in 1950 and attended Washington Bible Institute from 1952-1956. She was an accomplished musician and was the minister of music at several Nazarene churches, spreading joy with her upbeat gospel music. Edith retired from Saia Motor Freight in 2005.

Left to cherish fond memories are her loving children, son, Craig Plummer and wife, Crystal of Stanley, daughter, Melodie Sherrin and fiancé Calvin Sheppard of Bryson City, daughter, Ginger Gortney and husband Todd of Charlotte; 3 grandchildren, Crystalen Mattingly and husband Jay, Christina Barnhardt and husband Lee and Colton Plummer; 3 great grandchildren, Zack, Seth and Ava; 2 brothers, Clyde Pinney and wife, Elnora, and Glenn Pinney; several nieces and nephews.

Services held are private.
