Clifford Edward “Eddie” Thomas, 79 of Mount Holly passed away peacefully at home in his sleep. Eddie was fun loving and in his younger days he used the moniker “Fast Eddie.” Yet in realty Eddie was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked hard in the textile industry as a thread tech. He was very good at his job and he traveled many places in the world helping others with textile production. Many will miss Eddie.
Eddie is the son of the late Mary (Penley) Thomas and Luther Taft Thomas. Preceding him in death are his sisters Betty and Eula and his brother Bud.
He leaves behind his wife of over 36 years, Jewell (Hinkle) Thomas. Cherishing their memories of their father are his daughters, Kathy, Michele and Julie and son Matt. His brothers Guy and LT Thomas are also survivors. Missing their grandfather are Shane, Kyle, Drew, Alex, Christian, Krista and Darya. Eddies legacy includes four great-grandchildren – Hunter, Charlie, Mac and Kenzie.
A service celebrating Eddie’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday November 2, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 S. Main Street, Stanley. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon. Reverend Terry Thomas will officiate the services.
Eddie will be entombed privately at Hillcrest Gardens in Mount Holly. His pallbearers are Shane McMahan, Kyle McMahan, Scottie Thompson, Drew Stewart, Alex Stewart and Christian Stewart.
