He was born in Lincoln County on January 28, 1943 to the late Warren Dellinger and Mary Ruth Wilson Dellinger. Charles graduated from Kenwood High School in Baltimore, MD in 1961.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.
Charles worked in transportation as a professional OTR driver with multiple commercial and private companies.
He had a passion for sports, college & NFL football, golf & fishing. Charles had a special love for animals, especially felines.
Charles is survived by his only brother, Larry Gene Dellinger and wife Sonya Reid Dellinger of Cornelius, NC; aunt, Wilma Bayer of Youngstown, OH; uncle, Glenn Wilson and wife Twila of Dallas, NC and numerous beloved cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley, NC with a time of gathering following the service.
