Betty Sue (Perkins) Morris, 75, of Stanley passed away peacefully on Friday August 19, 2022 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. Betty fought the good fight, but ovarian cancer won the battle. Betty was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina to her parents, Margaret (Burrage) Perkins and Paul Perkins. Betty was a proud wife and mother. She loved her family. Professionally she worked in textiles, but found her real calling in life making biscuits at Hardee’s. She worked at the Hardee’s in Stanley for over 30 years making biscuits. In all likelihood if you ever had, a biscuit at Hardee’s in Stanley, Betty had a hand in making it. Many will miss Betty.
Her late husband, Samuel Morris, her brothers Randall Perkins and Robert Perkins and her parents Margaret and Paul Perkins precede Betty in death.
Betty leaves behind her children, Cliff Potter and his girlfriend Georgia A. Mahr, Greg Potter, Eric Morris and his wife Mindy, Steve Morris and his wife Susan, Cheryl MacFalda and her husband Dave, Karen Hamilton and her husband Michael and Gary Morris and his wife Samantha. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren are grieving Betty’s passing. Her sister Gail Church and her husband Larry are also missing Betty.
A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday August 23, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 South Main Street, Stanley.
