William “Bill” Lockwood of Stamford, Connecticut passed away peacefully on August 28, 2013 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward and Marge Lockwood. He had a long career in the Stamford Police Department. For many years he was part of the department’s Motorcycle Unit. After his retirement from the police department, he worked at Sterling Farms Golf Course as a grounds foreman.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Mary, son Bill and wife Ann of Missouri, son Jeffrey and wife Deborah of Southington, and daughter, Cindy Boisfeuillet of Stamford. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Jonathan and Michael Boisfeuillet of Stamford, Timothy and Jeffrey Lockwood, and Megan Henry. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Harold “Jack” Lockwood.
Bill was a sweet, gentle, caring man with a ready smile. He had a lifelong love of gardening, old time machinery, and golden retrievers. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday August 30, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 31st at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford.
