SYLVIA LEFKOWITZ PLOTKIN, 95, daughter of Fannie Lefkowitz and Herman Lefkowitz a Stamford resident for over 75 years passed away Saturday April 28th, 2012 peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was active in the Jewish community and a lifelong volunteer. Founder of the Augudath Shalom gift shop, longtime Stamford Hospital Volunteer, Girl Scout troop leader, President of Agudath Shalom Sisterhood, Mah Jong, Yoga and Meditation instructor. Member of the JCC senior program. Sylvia was an avid and skilled creator of needlework which she lavished on family and friends. Friend to many….She was a lover of animals and plants. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Plotkin of 70_ years, sisters Lillian Wexler and Helen LeBlang and brother Jay Sanford. She is survived by her sister Shirely Levy of New York, her three children Malcolm Plotkin and his wife Tina of Hendersonville, NC, Lorraine Kweskin and her husband David of Stamford and Philip Plotkin and his wife Kendra of Marietta, GA. Blessed with grandchildren, Kimberly, Amy, Lizbeth, Marlene, Matthew, Lori, Tracey and Marc; and 7 great grandchildren. A service of celebration of her life will be held Sunday, April 29th, 4:00pm at Agudath Sholom Synagogue, 301 Strawberry Hill Avenue. Shiva information to follow.
