Bob was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and moved to New York City as a young boy and spent his summers in Redding, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes in Washington Heights, Power Memorial Academy and City College of New York. He also served in the Army. He played baseball in high school and in the Army. One of his fondest memories is grabbing his glove after marching in the St. Patrick's Day parade to start the spring season off right with his high school friends.
Bob was a salesman of printing forms for Uarco Incorporated, Standard Forms ("SFI") and Workflow Management, Inc. He was the sales manager of the Stamford SFI office at one time but definitely preferred meeting and selling printing to his customers whom he considered his friends. His last employer was Prospect Printing.
Bob followed three New York teams, namely, the Jets, Yankees and was a season ticket holder for his favorite, the Rangers, for many years. He enjoyed playing golf during his years at SFI and was in charge of the tennis tournaments held during the annual meetings in Virginia. Bob was Captain of a local tennis group that played in Darien for a number of years. He also ran a fantasy baseball league and a home run derby.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Trefny Ritter, four sisters-in-law, Patricia Ford, Janet DeBona (Robert), Mary Chila (Pasquale), Susan Baker (Barry), and their respective families. He is also survived by his second cousins John (Pamela) Iwanyszyn, Stephen (Jo Anne) Iwanyszyn, Robert Iwanyszyn, Joseph (Joan) Iwanyszyn, Timothy (Sarah) Iwanyszyn and their families. Bob was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Craig Ford, his first cousin, Gloria Iwanyszyn, and three of her children, Michael, David and Ilona.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clement of Rome Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 (203-348-4206) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11 am.
