While growing up in the Springdale neighborhood, Bob attended St. Cecilia’s School and graduated from the former Stamford Catholic High School in 1970. He received a BA degree in business from St. Michael’s College in Vermont in 1974.
After graduation, Bob worked in banks and at Merrill Lynch investors. He had been an IT professional for the former Perot Systems Corp. and was a property appraiser. He was a broker in the Stamford office of Weichert Realtors for many years.
He also worked in his father’s TV shop in Springdale, at the former Stamford Ambulance Corps and as a bartender at the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Among his myriad hobbies and activities, Bob enjoyed watching polo matches in Greenwich, visiting Little Italy in the Bronx and playing golf at Sterling Farms in Stamford. He attended countless games at Yankee Stadium and met many of the players.
He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and was an extra in movies that were filmed throughout the Metro area. Bob had roles in community theater productions, including “Wait Until Dark” at Curtain Call in Stamford, and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat” in Riverside. Bob’s hands were a stand-in for Robert De Niro’s hands during the filming of “The Irishman,” where the iconic actor was required to handle a firearm.
Bob was an avid gun collector and was a member of the NRA and the Cos Cob Revolver & Rifle Club in Greenwich. He was proud of his car collection that included a bright orange MINI Cooper with the plate “USA MINI.” Bob attended car shows throughout the tri-state area.
