Mrs. Nancy Grimaldi

Nancy Elizabeth (Conrad) Grimaldi, 85, of Stamford, passed away on July 30, 2010, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Stamford, CT, she was the daughter of the late George and Beulah (Gates) Conrad. She was predeceased by her husband George. Nancy grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School in 1942. She then attended the Women's College at the University of North Carolina, and later graduated from the University of Connecticut. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield, CT where she enjoyed participating in women's Bible studies. She was employed by the Stamford Advocate for many years as a bookkeeper. Following her retirement, Nancy and her late husband moved to San Diego, CA. They later moved back to Connecticut and resided in Danbury, where George passed away in 2001. She returned to Stamford two years ago. Nancy possessed a kind, gentle spirit and was devoted her family and friends. She spent many hours volunteering and loved to work in her flower garden. She was beloved by the many people whose lives she touched. She is survived by two sons G. Lawrence Grimaldi and his wife Maryann of Madison, and Robert Grimaldi of Litchfield, one daughter Bonnie Grimaldi Lyons and her husband Craig Lyons of Stamford; and five grandchildren, Lauren, Katherine, and Philip Grimaldi, and Zachary and Shannon Lyons. She also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Calling hours will be held at the Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford from 4-8 pm on Friday, August 6, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Ave, Darien, CT with a reception to follow.
