Maureen was born on June 12, 1954, to Edward Lee Dolphin Sr. and Eileen Patricia Dolphin (née Gleason). Maureen lived in Bronx, New York, until she moved to New Milford, New Jersey when she was ten years old. Maureen received her Bachelor of Arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Phi sorority, along with Joan Venezia, Karen Kirby, and Eileen Scala. Maureen obtained her Master of Sciences degree from Seton Hall University. Following her graduation from school, Maureen became a registered nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Throughout her life, Maureen held many positions serving her community, including working as a probation officer in the Bergen County jail system, while studying to become a nurse. As a nurse, Maureen worked at multiple nursing homes, provided hospice care, and, most recently, served as a floor nurse at Arthur Brisbane Child Treatment Center. She also founded and operated Dolphin Case Management, which provided personalized nursing services throughout Bergen County, New Jersey.
In her free time, Maureen loved playing with her animals, swimming and sunbathing, painting, cooking, catching up with family and friends, and talking with her daughter, Elizabeth. Maureen is survived by her mother Eileen Dolphin, her daughter Elizabeth Conroy, her brother Edward Lee Dolphin Jr., her sisters Patricia Hartung and JoAnne Ryan, and several nieces and nephews. She was also a second mother to her niece and goddaughter Eileen Blessinger. Maureen was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lee Dolphin Sr.
Maureen was always a kind, generous, and loving person. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her family misses her dearly but is comforted in knowing that she is at peace. She will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
