Martha H. Smith

Martha H. Smith, the youngest of six children born to William and Bettina Smith passed from this life on January 7, 2018, in Stamford CT. A long-term resident of the city, Martha was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings – Dorothy, William, John, James and Margaret. She was also predeceased by a nephew Harrison Scott.

Martha leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Louis and William Fisher, Glorya, Elizabeth, Sandra and Gregory Scott, as well as William and Terri Lynn Smith. In addition, Martha was well loved by her many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

Martha was blessed to be surrounded by her dear cousin Vincent Alexander as well as her core group of dear friends Nieves Acosta, Maria Carson, Johnnie Jenkins, Dawn Solomon and Garland Townes. All of them brought a special joy to Martha’s life.

Martha will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She loved entertaining and having those who she loved around her. She had an elegance and beauty that will be remembered by all who knew her.

An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16 from 12-1pm at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford.
