Jimmie “Pepper Red” Whitfield passed away on December 25, 2010. Jimmie was born May 9, 1943 in Wrens, Georgia to the late Louise & Charlie Whitfield. He was a licensed barber and a well known hair stylist in Connecticut and New York. He also was an entrepreneur and operated “Pep’s Bottle Shop” on West Main Street in Stamford for many years. He is survived by his wife, Cathy , 2 sons, Charles of Port Chester, NY and James of CT. 6 Daughters, Safiyaah of GA, Felicia , Jamie, Tyra & Kelli of CT; & Shavon of NJ. 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. 3 uncles; Warren (Nancy) of FL, Gardtrell & George (Harriet) of CT. 2 aunts, Ruby of NY & Bernice (Curtis) of FL. He is also survived by several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10am at the Unitatian Universalist Church, 20 Forest Street in Stamford on Friday, December 31, 2010.
