and Marlene Lesperance-Allen in Bronx, New York.
Jelanee was a very active child with a love for basketball, music, cooking,
and his Haitian culture. These passions were engrained in him, and they
would follow him as he grew up. Many of his friends would say that one of
these topics came up in any conversation with Jelanee, affectionately
known as J or JJ.
Jelanee loved hard and was a protector. He made a career out of doing just
that as a Security Guard in both Connecticut and New York; however, his
true dream was to be a chef. There was not a meal that Jelanee could not
cook and cook well! Although he endured some difficulty in his short time
on earth, he accomplished much. Two of his greatest accomplishments
were his two children, Alani C. Allen and A’larick L. Horlman, whom he
loved very much.
After the birth of his first child, Jelanee accepted Jesus Christ as his
personal Lord and Savior and was baptized.
On December 26, 2022, the Lord called him home. He was preceded in
death by his Grandfather, Leonard B. Allen, Grandmothers, Shirley Temple
Allen and Rose Yvonne Lesperance, and his cousins, Akeem and Talisa.
Jelanee leaves behind to mourn his passing a multitude of family and
friends who loved and cherished him; especially his Daughter, Alani C.
Allen, his Son, A’larick L. Horlman, his loving Father, Clifford Allen, his
loving and supportive Mother, Marlene Lesperance-Allen, his Brother, Akil
C. Allen (Rediesha), his Sister, Imani F. Allen, his Grandfathers, Bernard
Lesperance (Rose) and Bartus Allen (Ernestine), two Nieces, and a host of
Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
