A lifelong Stamford resident passed away Wednesday, April 19th, at St. Camillus Health Center one month shy of his 81st birthday. Born May 12th, 1931, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Burke Anderson. Eugene graduated from Stamford High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1958. He was employed as a bookkeeper/office manager for National Spring Water Co., Inc., in Stamford for nearly twenty years and later worked for the City of Stamford at Dial-A-Ride as a dispatcher before retiring. He was married to Elizabeth Rainey of Scotland and is survived by many nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Hadsell and four brothers, Carl, John, Franklin and Jerome. The family would like to extend their eternal gratitude to Lena, Joselito and the Sisters at St. Camillus Health Center for their constant care and compassion for Eugene. Arrangements have been entrusted to Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, who the family would also like to extend their gratitude to. There will be no calling hours.
