Bevelyn was raised in both Stamford, CT and High Point, NC. It was during her time in North Carolina that she was first introduced to the teachings of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which deeply shaped her faith throughout her life.
A creative spirit, Bevelyn had a love for doing hair and makeup, which led her to attend cosmetology school in her younger years. She later dedicated many years of her life working for Stamford Public Schools, serving as a job coach and paraeducator, where she left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike.
Bevelyn was known for her humor, her outspoken nature, and her vibrant, magnetic energy. She was funny and incredibly direct—hate it or love it, she was always unapologetically herself. To know her was to love her. Even through life’s challenges, she remained strong in her faith and resilient in spirit. She had a heart of gold and a selfless nature—always willing to help others without hesitation and bring laughter to those around her.
Above all, her greatest and most cherished role was being a mother to her beloved daughter, Daliah. Daliah was her world, her pride and joy, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.
Bevelyn was predeceased by her infant son, Michael Palmer Jr., and her siblings Willie Kelly Keaton, Alberto Pannell, Tiffany Pannell, Mason Carter, and Allan Pannell.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Daliah Kelly; her siblings Nicole (David) Parham, Luwana (Alfonso) Williams, Taiwana (Malcolm) Simmons, Carla Lloyd, Mason (Courtney) Pannell, and Renard (Toya) Pannell. She also leaves behind a special cousin who was like a sister to her, Jacqueline Wilson; her godchildren Errol Johnson Jr. and Kamiya Balcombe; and her bonus sons Dale McPherson Jr. and Devon Pearson. She will also be remembered by her god-sisters Felice Moye and Angela Moye, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, located at 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT 06905, beginning at 12:00 PM.
