Annbeth Winters, longtime resident of Stamford, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 12, 2023, just over a week after she was beautifully celebrated by her family and lifelong friends on her 85th birthday.
Annbeth was loved by so many and will be greatly missed especially by her children, Bradley and Allison, daughter-in-law, Lara; her grandchildren whom she adored and lit up her life, Max, Bryce, and Sage; her brother, Howard, sister-in-law, Danielle; her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her youngest son, Michael, who brought her so much joy and love during his life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard, with whom she shared 59 adventurous years. She was also predeceased by her brother, Seymour, her very dear sister-in-law, Selma, and her parents, Miriam and William.
Traveling, horseback riding, bowling, tennis, cooking, canasta, volunteering, gardening, watching Jeopardy, theatre and knitting were just a few of her delights during her lifetime. Other skills she honed, including riding her tractor, maintaining her pool and pond, painting, tiling, and leaf blowing, came as a surprise to many since she was just a girl from Brooklyn (albeit the First Prize Winner of the 4th Annual Capri Beach Club Beauty Contest and the Co-Captain of the Lafayette High School Cheering Squad).
Annbeth was a vibrant woman, enjoying life to the fullest and accomplishing so many things with great determination. She was never afraid to challenge herself and was an inspiration to others. She was a beautiful soul with overwhelming compassion for people, animals, and nature.
In honor of her time on Earth, please consider making a memorial donation to the Ferguson Library, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Smile Train, the Museum at Eldridge Street or any charity of your choice.
