I don’t even know where to begin,

As Cousins, I don’t remember a time in my life that you were not in it.  

It was later in life that we developed a true friendship. So many laughs, so much fun, so much sharing in each other’s lives.   

No matter what I asked or how little notice I gave you, you were always there. Always Greeting everyone  with a smile and a hug.  

I still feel like I can pick up the phone and know, no matter what it is, you would be there for me.  

The love you had for Jamie, Jerrick and Justin Was like no other. If anyone ever tried to interfere with your little family, that mama bear in you Would come out roaring loudly.  Nobody messed with you and yours   😂

I had the gift of watching you and Jamie meet, Grow together, Love each other And the unconditional bond you both had for each other and your boys.  

So many triggers will make me think of you, Christmas parties, bike  week, Kix, Cookouts, Birthdays, weddings, baby showers, Pretty much any type of event that I know you would be at will make me think of you. And miss your presence.

I thank God, my children had Aunt Sharon and Uncle Jamie In their lives,  You probably have no idea how much you meant to all of us. ❤️

I love you Sharon.  I hope you are at peace and out of pain.   

Thank you for being a huge part of my life.  Thank you for loving me and my children.  Thank you for your positive attitude.  Thank you for the memories.  Thank you for being you.  You were truly one of a kind and I was truly blessed to have you as both family and friend.

Sharon was such a pleasure to work with.  Most of our conversations revolved around work but she had a way with leaving me with a smile with every conversation we had. She will truly be missed. My special friend you will be truly missed.  You would never believe the number of times I have thought to say “Hey Sharon” and suddenly realized you are no longer with me. But then I say to myself, okay she’s happy and now sharing her smile and laugher with those who she misses and love. During our last conversation we smiled, laughed, and you gave me the biggest huge which gave me peace and understanding that you were saying “See You Later Sister”. It’s very rare to meet someone who has all the unique qualities of being a good friend and fantastic co-worker. I recently saw a quote and I immediately saw you “When that special someone becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure”. Treasure – Sharon Ward!
 
Justin, Jerrick and Becca, your Mom was so proud of you guys.  We spent many hours (especially at lunch) telling funny and crazy stories about our kids. Yes, we talked about EVERYTHING. Justin you were the professional skate boarder. Jerrick and Becca, she was so excited about the engagement and recent marriage. You guys were the love of her life and I’m sure you will continue making her proud. My prayers are with you and hold on to the memories as they are the most precious gift anyone could ask for and they can never be taken away.

Funny moment. As you can see Sharon was very calm. And she definitely looked beautiful that day at Matt Fletcher’s wedding.

I have been struggling with what mere words I might write that can adequately express my sadness and most sincere condolences to Sharon's family.  
Sharon made my years in Civil Works easier and certainly more fun.  I am sure that she wasn't always having a great day, but you would never know it.  She was always ready to help and if she didn't automatically know the answer (which she most often did), she was able to chase it down without missing a beat.  
She made me laugh and reminded me to slow down and remember that not everything we were dealing with was an emergency.  It was always a good thing to go up front and talk to "the Sharons."  
Sharon was one of those truly rare people who made the world better, simply by existing in it.  Godspeed, Sharon

My deepest condolences for Sharon’s family during this difficult time and sending many hugs and prayers to all of you. I take peace in knowing that she has been reunited with Jamie and her folks.  Sharon was one of the most beautiful souls I have had the privilege to have in my life and I am feeling the vacancy she has left daily; she was a true friend and my work battle buddy.  I so loved her genuine personality and how she would light up when she shared stories about her family, especially her boys, very proud mamma!  She loved her work family as well and she was always so helpful to anyone that reached out to her for assistance.    I was blessed to get to go on a work trip with Sharon and I will always cherish those shared experiences and fun memories. She will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her and our world is a better place because she was in it.

I extend my deepest sympathy and heart felt condolences to Sharon’s family. I worked with Sharon in the Corps HQ for several years before retiring. She was always so helpful, supportive, and just a kind hearted person. No matter how she may have felt, she was always pleasant and comforting to others. Words can’t express my sadness in hearing of Sharon’s transition. She will certainly be missed by her Corps family. 

I met Sharon when I first arrived at HQ, which was intimidating.  I felt so lucky to have met her, she was so kind and patient and helpful.  I have never forgotten that about her.  I am so very sorry to hear of her passing and my thoughts are with her family at this sad time.  Please know she was so very loved and respected. 

Sharon was the best and to know her was to love her.  She was  so kind and patient and was always willing to help others-she helped me out countless times and always found a way to make me laugh in the process.  She talked about her "boys" all the time and it was clear how proud she was of them.  My heart goes out to them and to everyone in Sharon's life who is now missing her so much.  I will never forget her. 



My heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Sharon's family and friends.  I worked with Sharon for ~4 years and always could count on her for a smile, a positive outlook and a caring spirit for her fellow coworkers.  Sharon will be missed.

I want to pay tribute to Sharon Ward, who was like a sister to me. We were incredibly close at work, so much so that people used to refer to us as "the Sharons." She wasn't just a colleague, but also a wonderful friend and mentor who always provided me with invaluable advice, whether it was about work, parenting, or personal matters. She was always there for me, no matter the time of day, and talking to her always brought me comfort. Our bond was truly special; we could talk about anything.

Working with her was always a joy, even during the busiest of times. Sharon was an incredibly kind, caring, trustworthy, and genuine person. I'll miss our weekly phone calls and her infectious laughter when I greeted her with our inside jokes.

Sharon Ward always spoke lovingly of her two sons, Jerrick and Justin, and frequently shared heartwarming stories about her late husband, Jaimie. She took great pride in raising her two wonderful sons and was overjoyed to have witnessed Jerrick's wedding last March. Sharon adores her daughter-in-law, Becca, and cherishes the bond they share. Additionally, she played a significant role in raising her brother Dave's grandchildren, Aliyah and Steven. She spoke fondly of them and cared for them deeply. Sharon's love and care for her family is truly inspiring.

Sharon, thank you for everything. You will be deeply missed. I take comfort in knowing that you are now reunited with Jaimie, your parents, and Chewy 🐶. Rest in peace, my dear sister. I love you with all my heart. RIP Sharon Ward 🤍🕊️

You could always count on Sharon!  She was quick to help and problem solve any strange issue I had.  She made the workplace better both with her competence and her personality. I always enjoyed chatting with her.  She was great to work with, a huge asset to the Corps, one-of-a-kind, and we will really miss her.  Sending condolences to her family. 

I've worked with or near Sharon over the past 12 years.  Sharon truly was the best of the best.  You couldn't ask for a better colleague - professional, friendly, and always helpful.  She had a great sense of humor too and we shared more than a few laughs. 

Sharon always volunteered to support every office occasion too to ensure it was a special event for whomever - or whatever - was being celebrated.  And when the event was over, she'd let others know when leftovers were available and even bring around slices of cake -she was always so thoughtful like that.

She will be deeply missed by all that have that had the privilege of knowing her.  My heartfelt condolences to her family for your loss.

I am so heartbroken to hear of Sharon's passing.

My mind was trying to capture all the times we talked. I think the two words that epitimizes Sharon is, "Of course." I can plainly hear her say those to words no matter what the situation was. She would say it to mean, "no problem" or even to mean, "really?" in that incredulous way.

She always had time or made time even if it was a for a minute to make sure nothing slipped between the cracks. When I was the Executive Officer for one of the directorates, I was always at her desk to coordinate for meetings - pretty much every day. She worked late many times to make sure things were done or to a point of done if it were someone else's to finish.  Most of the time, this is when I would be at her desk. She was a magician finding the spots of time on five or more calendars of very busy people.

Later, when I moved to another position, I knew I could ask her for help, advice, or to refresh my memory, etc. and those two words were spoken - "Of course!".

To Sharon's family and friends - my deepest sympathies and heart felt prayers that you will find comfort and love in the memories.

I've only been at HQ a few years and have spent almost all of that time working virtually, so I never really knew Sharon personally but I always knew she would be there when I needed her.  It was clear from the beginning that she served that role for many people, as a helpful guide with a wealth of knowledge and a positive attitude no matter the circumstances.  I will miss her and I know many others will too.  My condolences go out to her family, friends, and community.

I write to offer my deepest sympathies. I had the honor of knowing and working with Sharon for more than 10 years while serving as the Corps’ Chief Counsel in Washington. During this time, I visited with Sharon on my many trips to the Office of the Director of Civil Works. She was a welcoming beacon to me and all that visited that office. Always cheerful, helpful, and engaging, Sharon had a kind word and a heartfelt, positive remark for everyone. My life was enriched by knowing her and the example of kindness she set. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I only met Sharon a couple of times at USACE HQ, but she left a lasting impression. Whenever an e-mail would pop up from her, I can still picture her face and wry smile. She was exacting when reviewing a document for me, but she was always extremely helpful and made what I wrote so much better. Like others, I was nervous to talk to her the first time. However,  after sternly looking at me for bringing a document late in the day that was full of errors, she smiled and told me she'd get me comments by end of day. She was kind, dedicated, and an amazing person.  I greatly appreciate you allowing her to spend time with us.

I'm very sorry to hear about Sharon's passing. I've worked with her a lot this last year and she really, really taught me a lot and helped us get a LOT of administrative actions completed. It may sound just like regular work stuff but she definitely was a huge help to me and the entire program I work in. I hope she is at peace.

I first met Sharon when I was a rookie at HQUSACE in 2013. It was a bit intimidating to us new folks when we had to go to the front office, but she was always a calming presence. She's the reason I can write proper Army documents today and always took that extra step to make sure things were right. Most of all, I'll really miss our hallway chats about vacations and pets and just enjoying life in general!

I worked with Sharon and have to say she was the most even keeled person I know.  She worked in a fast paced, high-pressure job and she was always calm and took the time to answer questions and found solutions to issues.  She always found an opening in the calendar when you absolutely had to see one of the bosses in the Executive Office.  I loved her smiling face and her banter.  She was so good at sending the conversation back to you instead of talking about anything going on with her.  I always left her office feeling better than when I came in.  I am so sorry that her family and friends don't have the opportunity of more time with her and extremely sad that she never got to enjoy retirement.  God Bless you Sharon and your family.

Sharon will be greatly missed in the Civil Works Directorate.  If you didn't know an answer, or where to even go to get the answer, she would help you identify the next step. She helped me many times, both when I worked in DC and later when I came back as remote.  She was always kind.  My deepest condolences to the family and her friends.  Please know she made a difference and her work and effort made things happen.

Sharon was a very caring and supportive colleague, always willing to assist others, she was the go-to person! She will be missed!   

Ms. Sharon always took time out of her busy schedule to help with anything you might need or direct you to someone who could assist with your request. Her unwavering dedication and kindness touched the lives of many. We will deeply miss her presence and the warmth she brought to our team.

Sharon was the first person that I worked with at USACE HQ back when I came to DC as an Endowed Chair many years ago, and I couldn't have hoped for a better guardian angel all these years. She made everybody's life more fun, family-like, and supportive, and I will never forget her.  She will always be in my heart walking those walls and taking care of all of us as she used to do. I will miss you so much!

Sharon was always such a joy to work with, although we didn't work together directly, our paths crossed many times and every time she was so nice, helpful, and a true professional. I will always remember Sharon as a dedicated, experienced and professional administrative officer. I can still see the glow on my sister's face when she married Jamie, and they bought their first born into Their home when they lived at Melrose, and I remembered the mother's love for her Jerrick and Justin over time. The happy times she enjoyed young and in love with Jamie and the trials our Lord allowed them to strengthen Their love for Their family. Sharon always put other's needs before her needs and her husband and Son's were everything to her. Who else in this world could keep our Jamie in Check {LOL}. Jamie told me many times about how he loved his wife and Son's, and I am so grateful the good Lord bought them together. Justin reminded me the other day of how Jamie and Sharon met with our cousin Karen and how they attracted to each other right away. Sharon always loved her family and Friends at work Like Lakeeta and Lisa and always mentioned them when we talked. She was so thoughtful of other peoples, feelings that she kept her condition quiet She did not want to cause any pain to others on her account. I and very grateful to our Lord for allowing me such a good Friend and Sister. Sharon always reminded me of other family member's birthdays and events, and I do not know what I would have done without her thoughtful love. I laugh when I think of the brother and sister minor squabbles we went through kids in Hyattsville. I laugh when I think of the later teenage years when we tried to get Sharon out of bed to go to school (anything before 1500 was too early) and how long it took her to cool down for waking her up {LOL} She was always tracking family events with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins   and not sure how I would have been able to track without her guidance on many things. I really loved my Friend. She was always the one and our mother who met me at the airport when getting home from overseas with the Seabees. I will always treasure her love and friendship.
