Ronald Houghton

Ronald Houghton, age 62, of Stafford, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

Ron was an irreplaceable, so very much loved Husband & Soulmate, Daddy, Son, & Brother. He was very intelligent, & was always willing to help out his family & friends with any repairs or installations of electronics & home improvements, etc, that he understood well, when the rest of us were clueless.

He loved his family very much, & was a wonderful provider to his wife & children. He continued to work hard, even with congestive heart failure, during the last 21 years. Our family is very much devastated by the loss of this special man.

Ron served in the U.S. Army, & then continued to work for the Dept of the Army as a civilian federal employee, for the entirety of his career, for 40 years. He was in Communications for the Dept of Defense, & he kept our troops talking to each other. He truly cared about keeping his soldier brothers safe in the field, & we are very proud of him.

He earned 2 Associate degrees, & a Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science & Technology during his career.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Houghton; their children, Cody Houghton, Cheyenne Houghton, Brandon Boster, & Kristen Boster; his father, Glenn Houghton; his brothers, Jeff Houghton & Brian Houghton; & his sister, Jackie Massey.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Houghton; sister, Tamara Houghton; & his birth mother, Jessie Hedgecock.
