He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his sons, Marlon Coleman (Marie Claire) and Maurice Coleman (Ashley); his daughter, Melissa Coleman; and his grandchildren, Monica, Landon, Kamryn, Julian.
Ronald will also be greatly missed by his siblings, Ray (Sheba); Yolanda (Garrett); Denise; Edward (Ida); Elizabeth; Carl; Jeffrey (Latonja); and an abundance of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Dorothy Coleman; his biological father, Johnny Rodgers; and his brother, Eugene Rodgers.
Ronnie was born in Bessemer Alabama. He joined the military at age 18 and served for 21 years.
He started a new endeavor with Prince William County Adult Detention Center, Ronnie finally retired in 2019 and focused on cooking and enjoying his grandchildren. His main focus was cooking and got the biggest satisfaction on feeding and entertaining whoever was coming to the house. Nobody would ever leave hungry.
Ronnie enjoyed the football season which was also a reason to cook and grill for friends and family. He really didn't need a special occasion as long as somebody came over to eat, he was happy. If somebody couldn't come over to the house to eat, he would send food their way anyway.
Ronnie wasn't the oldest sibling, but he definitely was "the boss"! He was the sibling patrol and made sure we all were equipped with the necessary tools to excel in life. At one point or another, Sylvia and Ronnie opened up their home to each one of us.
He loved, loved, loved FAMILY and showed his love through his cooking. He made sure to cook enough food for all of us, our friends and our friend's friends!!
Some of our best Sundays were at their house when the Redskins played the Cowboys. We knew we were gonna eat good, laugh and enjoy quality time with family while watching the game.
The more people he entertained, the happier he seemed to be.
We are HEARTBROKEN without him, but we have already learned so much from his life...
WE WILL LOVE HARD, FORGIVE EASILY AND CONNECT WITH FAMILY NO MATTER WHAT!!
A visitation for Ronald will be held from 9:30am-10:30am on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
