Lynn Anne Coia, 56, passed away peacefully from complications associated with metastatic breast cancer on August 14, 2023, at her home in Stafford, Virginia. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 12, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, to David and Sharron Baldwin.
Lynn was a 1985 graduate of Cicero North Syracuse HS in New York, and continued her education at SUNY Buffalo where she received a BS in aerospace engineering. She completed a master’s degree in management and technology at the University of Minnesota in 2005.
Lynn was employed with the US ARMY (DEVCOM-CV5ISR) as an engineer and program manager. She was passionate about her career and loved tackling challenges with her teammates. She believed her role in developing young teammates was as important as anything she did.
She enjoyed entertaining with family and friends, hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, listening to live music, and spoiling her dogs, Nessie and Kai. Lynn also loved spending time with her circle of girlfriends with whom she shared her interests and beliefs in the power and success of women.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Ray (married 2018); her children, Oliver and Abby Houghtling; parents, David and Sharron Baldwin; sister, Diana Chambers (husband Jeff); nephew, R.J. Butler (wife Lindsay); and niece, Miranda Butler.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd., Stafford, VA 22554. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon.
Memorial Donation in lieu of flowers may be made to American Cancer Society.
