Joan Kindle Pierson

She was born on February 14, 1938, at Natural Tunnel, VA.

Joan graduated from Rye Cove Memorial High School and received a B.S. Degree from Radford University. She did her graduate work a t East Tennessee State University. She taught school in Scott County, Virginia, and also at the Department o f Defense Schools, Clark Air Force Base, Philippines.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lovely Kindle; her husband, George Curtis Pierson; her son, Mark Curtis Pierson; her sister and brother-in-law, Rovern and Ed Hutton.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Kristin and her three grandchildren, Steven Il, Ty, and Emma Slagle. She has one great grandchild, Ashton Slagle.

She is a retired school teacher. She truly loved the Lord and lived a life to glorify Him....She was the best mom and grandma anyone could ever have and will be truly missed!

Joan attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Stafford, VA.

A graveside service for Joan will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Holston View Cemetery, 226-292 Yuma Rd, Weber City, VA.
