Herb was born in Washington, D.C. on August 26, 1940. He joined the United States Air Force in August 1958. During his 20 years of service he had tours in Alaska, the Azores, Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and held multiple positions in the Pentagon. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant and retired from the Air Force in August 1978. Upon his retirement he moved permanently to Stafford, Virginia. He held various positions after retiring from the Air Force until he established a career in the printing business. He retired a second time in 2011 after being employed at Stafford Printing for 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Marilyn, his daughter Audrey Walsh Grant and husband Gary; two sons, Rodney Walsh and wife Rochelle;
Randy Walsh and wife Erin; and his brother Larry Walsh and sister-in-law Pam. Also surviving are four loving granddaughters Hannah (10), Haley (8), Harper (4) and Hattie (2). He was preceded in death by parents Jean Louise Beauchamp Walsh and Herbert W. Walsh, Sr. and two brothers John Walsh and Ronald Walsh.
Herb had a loving heart and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Noon on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends back at the home after the service.
