She was born in Knox City, Missouri on June 9, 1932. She attended Colony Grade School in Colony, Mo and high school in Kansas City, Mo.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, baptized on April 22, 1962 and united with Avondale Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo.
When Ms. Doris came to Dumfries, VA and lived with her son Rev. Bill Fetters and family, she attended First Mt. Zion Baptist Church and also attended the Seniors Ministry.
Mrs. Doris Fetters is survived by her only living son, Rev. Bill Fetters (Deaconess Bella), granddaughters Tammy Drabek (Sean) and Feby Jean Fetters, all of California. She also leaved behind 7 grandchildren, Shane Drabek (Chelsea), Katie Drabek Hill (Jeff), Alexis Drabek Thrum (Nick), Shana Drabek, Jacob Drabek, Taylor Drabek and Sean Drabek; 6 great grandchildren, Jazmyne, Atreyu, Trysten & Annelyse Drabek and Owen & Abigail Hill; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Doris Fetters was preceded in death by her parents, youngest son Gary Fetters, one sister Alice Marjorie Pearl and only brother, James Richard McMurry.
She worked and retired from the American Can Company of Kansas City, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her cats and her Jack Russell dog, named Max.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dumfries, VA. Visitation is at 10:00am. The Rev. Dr. Luke E. Torian will officiate the services.
Pall bearers are: Deacon Carl Ross, Deacon Willie Brown, Rev. Ernest Jones, Rev. Brian Woolfolk, Brother Anthony Anderson and Brother Malcolm Petteway.

Repast will be at the First Mt. Zion Baptist Church’s Grain of Heaven immediately following the service.
Interment will be at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, in Kansas City, MO.
