David Charles Martin

Dave was born in Boston, MA on 8 September 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents Jane (Sherry) and Paul Ewen (Stepfather) and grandparents Laura and Reginald Sherry.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie who is also a former Marine. They have one son, Tim (Leane) and two wonderful grandchildren Gavin and Caitlyn.

Dave proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a leader who always took care of his troops. As a young Marine, he was sent to Vietnam and served with Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division. While in combat, he was wounded, and received a Purple Heart. He retired in 1985 and went to work for NCIS until 2001. When he was still able, he loved to work in his yard. He and Bonnie enjoyed shopping at many different grocery stores around Virginia in search of new and different foods. Effects of the exposure to Agent Orange really started taking a toll on his body by 2015 and led to his early death.

Burial will be a private graveside ceremony for family.
