He was born in Virginia on November 1, 1936 to the late Louis Irvin and Mertie Heflin Ritenour.
Carl was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed as a Mail Carrier for the Dumfries Post Office for 27 years.
Carl loved God. His hobbies included traveling and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Louie Ritenour Jr. and Robert W. Ritenour.
Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn Ritenour, two brothers; William H. Ritenour and wife Peggy and Roy A. Ritenour and wife Joyce, as well as thirteen nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Dumfries United Methodist Church 3890 Cameron St. Dumfries, VA., with Rev. Doug Geeting officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asked the expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Carl’s name to either Dumfries United Methodist Church or Hatchers Memorial Baptist Church 12225 Barbee Road Bristow, VA. 20136
