Betty Jane Gallahan

Betty Gallahan, 85, Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully, Wednesday April 17, 2024 at SMP Health Ave Maria Village.
Betty was born February 17, 1939 in Charlottesville, VA, the daughter of Leonard and Hazel (Pugh) Kirby. She attended school and graduated in 1958.
Betty Jane Kirby and Avery Harris Gallahan were married March 22, 1963 in Virginia. They made their home there, where she worked as a certified nurse’s assistant at an adult medical center. Following the death of her husband in 1990, she later came to North Dakota to be near her daughter Beth.
Betty enjoyed Bingo, watching sports, especially baseball and football games. She also loved seek and find word books and watching birds on the feeders. She also really enjoyed Oslo the Ave Maria dog.
Betty is survived by her three children: Claude (Carol) Gallahan of Sumerduck, VA; Beth (Dave) Lautt of Jamestown, ND; and Floyd Gallahan of Ladysmith, VA; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters: Lena Dyer of Rochelle, VA and Patricia Gooden of Elkton, VA; one brother: Leonard "Butch" Kirby of Orange, VA.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Thomas Doyle, one brother, Thomas Allen and her twin sister Myrna.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bill McMahon officiating. Inurnment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park in Stafford, VA.
