William Thomas Alden Sr.

William T. Alden Sr., Alief resident William “Bill” Alden, 80, died November 4, 2013 at West Houston Medical Center in Houston, TX. William Alden was born May 20, 1933 in New Orleans, LA. He was the adopted son of William Livingston Alden and Harriet Frances Alden of Port Neches, TX. He graduated from Port Neches High School in 1951. He married Guadalupe Mata on August 15, 1970.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 during the Korean War and served as a cook while stationed in Germany. After his discharge he attended the University of Arkansas and later the University of Houston. He was an accountant for SONAT Inc. for almost 18 years and later worked for the FDIC.

After retiring he enjoyed traveling with his wife and being involved with their church. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and was the treasurer for the Senior Senate organization.

He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Alden of 43 years; his son and daughter -in-law Janet and William Alden, Jr. of Richmond, son Joseph Alden, grandchildren Logan, Liam, Justin, and Julian; and his sister Mary Carriere of Conroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harriet and William L. Alden.
