Rita Agnes Bell

Rita Bell, age 66, died peacefully on April 27, 2018 in the comfort of her home. Rita was born on March 11, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of John and Frances Fleming. Rita graduated from St. Gregory the Great Catholic School as well as St. Agnes Academy. Rita married Doug Bell on August 15, 1970, in Bellerose, New York. After their marriage, they moved to Texas, eventually making Cypress their home for 38 years, where they had three children.

Rita had different careers in her lifetime: she was a nurse's aide, teacher's aide; she worked in hospital staffing and as a church youth minister. She was a caregiver to her parents, and to Doug's parents; as well as to her sister Mary Fleming. Her true loves were her family, friends, and singing in her church choir. She also loved spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her husband Doug, children; Doug II, Chris, and Michelle; and her seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; John, Thomas, Raymond, Donald, Gerard, Patrick, and Michael Fleming; sisters; Kathleen Townsell and Maureen Bleidt, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her sister Mary Fleming. She will be deeply missed by her family and all of those whose lives she touched.

There will be a wake and Rosary, on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford, Texas 77477. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 South 4th St., Richmond, TX 77469. Following the funeral mass, a graveside service will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
