She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Emil John Ottis II, his daughter Jessica and her spouse, Charles Idol and their Daughters Cora & Margo; Clara Nell Ottis Lambert, her daughter Rachel and her spouse, Luke McKiernan and their son August, and son Larry Louis, III (Trey); Yvonne Marie Ottis Hawkins and her three sons, Raymond and his wife Ashlynn, Marcus and Pierson; Daughter-in-Law, Linda Ramirez Ottis and her daughter Christina Ottis and her spouse Rami Obeidin and their son Zayd. Sister, Terese Raia; along with many loving Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Friends.
Phyllis was proceeded in death by her Husband, Robert R. Ottis, Sr.; Parents Ignazio A. Ancona. and Clara Procopio Ancona, infant brother Anthony Ancona, sons Anthony I. Ottis & Robert R. Ottis Jr and sister, Carmelina Ancona Pacini.
Phyllis attended Holy Rosary School, graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1949 and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sacred Heart Dominican College in 1953.
Phyllis was a member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of Heaven, The Charity Guild of St. Joseph, The Wellspring Guild, the Military Officers Wives Club, The Spirit of Freedom and a former member of The Amaketos. Both Phyllis and her husband Robert were honored in 1975 by the Society of Mary as Affiliates in the Society of Mary.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 8200 Roos Road in Houston, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.
Immediately following, all are invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Phyllis during a reception in the Family Life Center.
The family will gather for private interment at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
