It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mioara Rosca, a cherished mother, grandmother, and partner. Mioara was born on January 1, 1933, in Brasov, Romania and peacefully passed away on December 1, 2024 in Houston, Texas. Her life was a testament to her vivacious spirit, marked by unwavering determination and a generous heart.
Mioara is survived by her devoted son, Paul Alexander Dixon, loving daughter-in-law, Cathlin Webster, and her beloved granddaughters, Kelsey Dixon, Sarah Webster, and Lara Alexandrina Dixon. She also leaves behind her partner, Roger Trandell, who was a beacon of support and a source of enduring love. Mioara was predeceased by her parents, Alexandrina and Diamandi Rosca, and Harold Dixon, Paul Dixon’s Father, all whom she held dear to her heart.
She had many careers in her lifetime, from Draftswoman to Registered Nurse and a Paralegal. Never one to rest, she was also a small business owner with a beauty salon and used car import business just to name a few.
As an active member of her community, Mioara attended St. Andrews Romanian Church and was a proud member of the Rolls Royce Owners Club and Houston Grand Opera. She generously volunteered her time to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Houston SPCA and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, organizations close to her heart.
Mioara was a woman of many passions. She had a great love for the elegant performances of opera, concerts, plays and enjoyed both funny and romantic movies. Cardio, swimming and dancing were her go-to exercises, radiating her animated, bubbly, and energetic personality. She never missed a party,
whether her own or out enjoying the Houston Nightlife. She was always kind and generous to her dear friends over her lifetime. She had travelled to over 50 countries and to every Continent. Cruising anywhere fulfilled her adventurous spirit, while her causes included a profound love for art, music, her Granddaughters and her dog, Dollie.
Mioara's life was a symphony of love, color, and laughter. Her sparkling personality brought joy and light into the lives of everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us every day.
To honor Mioara's vibrant life, a Short Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday December 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home 12555 S. Kirkwood Rd.
