Mildred M. Court, was peacefully called home to the Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2018. She was born on December 10, 1927 in Dekalb, TX to the late John W. and Ida Lee Wilson, and was married to the late J.C. ‘Buster’ Court for 52 years. Mildred is survived by her sons and their wives, Kenneth and Jill Court, and JJ and Donna Court, along with 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nita and husband, Mike Cassidy.
Mildred and her family moved to Stafford, TX, at an early age where she attended Missouri City High School and later retired from the Stafford School District. Mildred was a loving and caring person who enjoyed life to its fullest – she loved to cook, and oh could she cook! Nothing thrilled Mildred more than to share her home cooked meals and baked goods with family and friends. She enjoyed those afternoons, which many times lead into long evenings of playing cards and board games with dear family and friends. Mildred cherished her time at Holy Family Catholic Church, working with Parishioners on the annual St. Joseph’s altar, as well as her involvement in the community and serving as a lifetime member of the Stafford Historical Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Ex-Prisoner of War Club. Mildred and her late husband, ‘Buster’, also enjoyed their time with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and hours fishing from their camp in Bastrop Bayou, as well as traveling with friends in their RV.
After an accident in 2016 left Mildred confined to a wheelchair, she never lost her smile, beliefs, and strong spirit to live. She has spent the past 2 ½ years at Clayton Oaks Assisted Living facility in Richmond, TX., where she had met many new friends. Mildred will be missed by many and we thank the kind Staff at Clayton Oaks for caring for our dear Mother.
The family will be receiving friends for a visitation on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary following at 7:00 pm, at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S Kirkwood, Stafford, TX 77477.
