Our Prayers & Condolences to the Sheppard Family.

FROM JACK YATES REUNION CLASS OF 1972--We are in place in this world for a limited time, and with the breath of the infant begins the race to the grave.  A race everyone must run.
Whereas, in the providence of God, He has brought to a close the life of our classmate, Michael Sheppard, the officers and members of the Jack Yates Class of 1972 feel that it is befitting to express our sympathy to the family during the passing of Michael.  We commend you to Him who knows best and will always do right.  You have our sincere prayers.
Whereas, Michael Sheppard was a man of few words and gentle spirit.  He was a classmate who loved Jack Yates and a friend who will be missed.  We, the members of the Jack Yates Class of 1972, want Michael's family to know that our hearts are with you as you gather to bid good-bye to him. 
Whereas, the passing of our beloved friend and classmate is the will of God and there is a human tie that has been broken which bleeds the heart in agony and pain.  We are encouraged and consoled in the words of Jesus who said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Therefore, be it resolved, that we embrace the family because all of us have a common bond that will connect us for the rest of our lives.  We cannot replace Michael Sheppard, but will attempt to demonstrate his love for you.
To the family of Michael Sheppard, we know your loss is deep and your sorrow is great, but we want you to know that we share in your sorrow.  We offer these words of comfort you:
Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys, different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward,
