It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of McHenry “Snack-Pac” Turner III, born on October 7, 1959, in Monroe, Louisiana. He was the son of Lillie Gayden. McHenry transitioned to eternal rest on November 27, 2024.
He is survived by his siblings: Janet Jackson, Alma Nelson, Ricky Turner, and Johnny Jr. Holman. McHenry was the father/ father figure to children: Amie Powers, Larry and LaShanda Sanders, Michelle Cruz, Savina Turner, and his only son, Jaylan Turner. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Alayha Turner and Alanah Boyd, who brought him immense joy.
Snack was known as a jack of all trades and a master of none, but his versatility was a testament to his adventurous spirit. He pursued a career in culinary arts, proudly running his own barbecue and boudin food truck for four successful years. He later took on welding, honing his skills for over eight years, while also working as a mechanic on the side.
In his early years, Snack-Pac was dedicated to fitness and enjoyed spending time in the dance hall, where his vibrant personality shone. He often recalled with a smile, “I was a bad mfa, better ask about me,” a reflection of his confidence and zest for life. His charm and love for laughter will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
As we celebrate the life of McHenry “Snack-Pac” Turner III, let us honor his memory by cherishing the moments we shared and the laughter he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
