John T. Poole 89, of Houston, Tx. Passed away on Dec.26,2012. A Graveside Service will be held at Houston National Cemetery Friday January 11.2013 at 12:30 with full Military Honors. John was born in Port Author, Tx on June 12, 1923. He was a graduate of Texas A&M with an Industrial Engineer degree that he completed after fighting in WWII with the 103rd Infantry. John was married to Aleah Watson on Feb. 21, 1951. They were married 61 years. He met the love of his life at Joskes in Houston where they both worked selling furniture.
John worked as a District Sales Manager for Westinghouse for 25 years. After retirement he started his own Plumbing Supply Company for many years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, football and many sports his 7 grandchildren played throughout the years. He was always in the stands to cheer his grandchildren on! He was an avid supporter of Aggies football through thick and thin.
We know he is smiling about their big win against Oklahoma. He was also actively involved in the First United Methodist Church Sugar Land. He was member in the Tuesday Morning Men’s group for many years. He also was an active member in the 103rd Infantry reunion group.
John is survived by his wife Aleah, children Tom Poole and wife Joy, Jan Doniero and husband Joey, Ronda Peterson and husband Barry. Grandchildren Joey, Julie, Chase, Erika, Tyler, Aleah and Scott, his nephew Wayne Wilkerson and 7 great-grandchildren. As well as other family and friends. He made a big impact on all our lives and we will forever be grateful for his love, guidance and support all these years.
John is preceded in death by Leslie Wilkerson, Mary Wilkerson and Doug Wilkerson.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Cancer Society. The family of John T. Poole wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Hospice and the Oasis Hampton for all their care and patience this past year.
