John and I were friends and coworkers over thirty years ago. Reading the notes on this page,  I know he grew to be the man he wanted to be, who we expected him to become.

I'm sorry to hear of John's passing, it has come as a horrible shock to me and his friends from NAIT and Chembiomed. John was the funniest guy I ever met and a pleasure to work with. He will be missed!! Farewell John.

I thank God for bringing John into my life at a time where it was meant to be.  He truly was a giving man and gave his greatest gifts of time and advice.  May he rest and peace.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of his loved ones, especially his wife and daughters.

I am sadden to learn that John has passed away. John and I had been working in several process control projects back when he just joined Dow. I still remember he stayed over my house one night because of the project startup activities and in the morning after he finished the shower, he asked me for a comb  then I said, Are you asking a guy with brush cut for a comb? We shared the laughter so many times  Aside from work, I also played soccer with John in indoor soccer games organized by the Dow Social Club  although John was not a very skillful soccer player, he did scored some amusing goals from time to time. I also have the honor of being invited to his wedding  later on watching him building his family with Darcy together, moving upward in his engineering career in Dow at Fort Saskatchewan and Freeport  John will be missed but he had given me, and I am sure everyone who knows John, wonderful memory and long lasting comradeship  My sincere condolences to you, Darcy, and your daughters. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We had the priveledge of getting to know the Dycha family this past spring as Kate was a member of the softball team at Ridge Point. What an amazing, kind, and soft spoken family. John has left a mark on his community and those who knew him, even if just a little bit. His memorial service today was very touching and it was great to hear stories that made us both laugh and brought us to tears. You can count on us to continue to keep you all in our hearts and in our prayers!  All our love, the Odneals

It was a privilege to know and work with him - he will be greatly missed by so many. So sorry to hear about the passing of John. I had a chance to work closely with John in 1996/1997. He got such a good character, worked well under pressure and cared for his colleagues - all I remembered and as witnessed in all the pictures - big smiles - that in turn bring smiles to our faces! I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I knew John many years ago when we were young adults working together. He was a kind and gentle soul. I hope you can find peace in your memories.

I count myself lucky to have gotten to know John a little better this past year through our shared love for watching our daughters play softball. He loved his girls and it showed. Emily and Kate your dad was a great guy and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was very fortunate to have the chance to know John over the years at the softball fields.  Always so supportive of Kate and her team.  Funny, positive, and giving... Thank you John for shining your light.

I just wanted you guys to know how much I enjoyed and respected John.  He was a very talented engineer and leader who thoroughly enjoyed his job and the people he worked with.  He will truly be missed, and he has left an awesome legacy.

Darcy, in the short time that we were able to know John, we could tell how much of an inspiration he was to many on top of being an amazing husband and father!  We will continue to pray for you and the girls and offer our deepest sympathies and condolences.

In my working with John, I always found him to be a man who put his family and his employees in a premium position.  John was a good man, and will be missed.

Dear Darcy,  it has been a while, but I remember how wonderful you and John were when we knew you in Alberta.  I am so saddened to hear that you have lost John at such a young age.  I know how painful it is for you and your family and especially you, having lost your best friend and love.  My thoughts are with you now and as the days pass.
