Jeanne Alva Shaw, 87, left this world on August the 4th, 2016 at the Optimum Personal Care Facility in Sugar Land, Texas. Jeanne was born to Olive James and Mary Louise Whipple on May 26th, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas. As a small girl her family moved around to several locations before settling in Houston, Texas where she graduated from Austin High School. After high school she attended and graduated from Massey Business School. On June 12, 1953 she married Arthur Mack Shaw from Lovelady, Texas. They were married for 31 years until his death in 1984. Jeanne was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in the Church of Christ Stafford, Texas until the very end. She was a career homemaker, wife, mother and for 27 years the executive secretary for student support services of H.I.S.D. She was a friend to so many that crossed her path. Family was so important to Jeanne and she will be missed. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents Olive James and Mary Louise Whipple, her husband Arthur Mack Shaw and her sister Jerry Lee Wilson. She is survived by her brother Olive James (Buddy) Whipple Jr of Houston, Texas, her son Larry Mack Shaw of Beaumont, Texas and son Bruce Wayne Shaw and his wife Debbie of Richmond, Texas. She is also survived by 4 grandsons, Bradley Shaw and his wife Marlayna, Sealy Shaw and wife Heather, Brenton Shaw and his wife Jessica and Stayten Shaw. She is also survived by one great granddaughter Elva Jeanne Shaw, her name sake and numerous nephews and nieces of several generations. The family would also like to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to Optimum Personal Care and to the Bluebonnet Hospice for their help in Jeanne’s last few months of life. Without them this would have been so difficult for all. Both organizations went above the call of duty to care for Jeanne. Mom, Memaw, Aunt Jeanne we miss you and love you but know you are visiting with family that is already in Heaven. You are in the hands of the Lord that you love so much and are no longer suffering here on this earth. We will see you soon one day.
