Jane married the love of her life Larry Preston in Kansas City, Missouri on May 2, 1964. Jane and Larry lived in Kansas City, Missouri for a couple of years before moving to Houston, Texas, where they settled down to raise their family. Jane was a stay at mom to raise their two boys during their informative years. As their boys got older, Jane entered the work force. She began working part-time in retail sales, and then went to work with the Alief School District, where she could still spend quality time with their boys. Jane then moved on and began working as an administrative assistant for an oilfield journalism magazine, but soon after, she returned to work for Alief school district as an administrative assistant. Jane’s love, Larry, passed on May 9, 1999, Jane continued working for the school district until her retirement in 2004. During Jane’s retirement years, she enjoyed spending time crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She loved using her skills and talents on Thursdays where she would volunteer in the “Hands to Bless” ministry at church. Jane also enjoyed Tuesday morning Bible studies, then gather with her friends to share what they learned from the study. Jane enjoyed helping others, her favorite was spending time with friends and family. Jane never met a stranger; she would strike up a conversation with anyone who was friendly.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Larry Preston, her parents Robert Mack, and Alice Evelyn Wilson. Jane is survived by, her son Patrick Preston and his wife Bertha of Sugar Land, Texas, her son Christopher Preston of Houston, Texas. Her Grandchildren Matthew Preston of Plano, Texas; Ryan Preston and his wife Lindsey of Kilgore, Texas; Dustin Preston and his wife Kristan of Sugar Land, Texas. Great Grandchildren Adley Preston and Dagur Preston. She is survived by her brother Robert Wilson and his wife Beth of Kansas City, KS and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
