She was born on May 29, 1945, to Theo Richardson and Mary F. Manning, in Tyler, Texas.
Hellen’s early education years began in Chandler, Texas with Brownsville ISD. She completed her education with Tyler ISD, graduating from Emmett J. Scott High School. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from Tyler Commercial College, a business school in bookkeeping and accounting.
She was married to Damus Wynn and then to Grady Leonard, in each union they had two children each.
Hellen was employed with Exxon\Mobil Oil Company. Her employment spanned 29 years; she retired in 2005.
She enjoyed tennis and reading novels of different genres Romance, Mystery, Suspense, and Espionage.
Hellen is preceded in death by her father, Theo and her mother, Mary F. Richardson; her sister, Charles D. Hopkins; her brother, Michael A. Richardson; her son, Brian P. Wynn, and her grandson, Damus N. Wynn. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Wynn and his wife Rhonda; her daughter, Bronwyn Lang and her husband Andrew; her daughter, Jennifer Leonard; her sisters, Carol Jones, Mary A. Wilderman and her husband Reggie, and she is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Hellen will be held Thursday, April 17 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
Following the service all are invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Hellen during a repast in the event room at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
