Eileen Rose O'Gorman

Eileen was born in Manchester, England and raised in Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland and was Irish through and through. She went on to nursing school in Manchester, England where she met the love of her life, Vincent, who was also from Ireland. They were married in Skerries, Ireland on September 4, 1962. They moved to the United States as Vincent accepted a position in New York City with Shell Oil and Eileen also worked as a Nurse. In 1970, they moved to Houston, Texas where they settled in, raised a family, one son, Brian and one daughter, Fiona. They were married 44 loving years before Vincent’s passing. They created many lifelong friendships with fellow Irish natives and gathered to celebrate their native heritage quite often back in the day. Eileen enjoyed gardening, travelling (especially to Ireland to visit family) socializing with her many friends and was an excellent host of many gatherings. Vincent and Eileen’s pool parties and annual Super Bowl parties were a particular favorite among their friends.

Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Michael Louis O’Gorman; her parents, Patrick and Brighid Kelly; her brothers, Brian Kelly, Liam Kelly and her sister, Una McAuliffe. She is survived by her daughter, Fiona Lero and her husband Jay of Hendersonville, Tennessee; her son, Brian O’Gorman of Houston, Texas; her brothers, Hugh Kelly and his wife Mary of Ireland, Pat Kelly of Ireland, Seamus Kelly of Ireland; her sisters, Maureen Beston of Ireland, Brighid Cole of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, Anne Kelly of England and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen's final wish was for her remains be returned to her native Ireland where she will be reunited with her husband Vincent in Waterford and her family in Belturbet. She was a loving and caring soul and will be missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of Life for Eileen will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.

Immediately following the service all are invited to share memories of Eileen during a reception to be held in the event room at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home.
