

Dolores Tarlton, 88, passed away peacefully on 15 January 2020 in Sugar Land, Texas following a brief illness. Dolores was born in New York City to Theophilus de Boer and Ena Balmer de Boer on March 8, 1931 and moved as a child to Dallas where she grew up and graduated from Highland Park High School. In 1949 she married Benjamin Dudley Tarlton, a lawyer and professional aviator, and had three children before moving to Houston in 1957 where she became a real estate broker, property manager, and co-founder of Tarlton Helicopters. Following her husband Dudley's death in 2003, Dolores married Mark J. Miller who had retired from the United States Air Force and moved from Houston to Missouri City, Texas.
Dolores will be remembered by her many friends and associates as an exceptionally talented and skilled businesswoman and administrator who was also an active participant in the Democratic Party in Harris County for several decades. Those who knew and worked with Dolores remember the dedication, commitment, and professionalism which she brought to every project she undertook.
Dolores is survived by her husband Mark J. Miller of Missouri City, by her three children, Theresa Anne Tarlton of Sugar Land, Benjamin Dudley Tarlton IV, (Lynette) of Denver, and Theophilus (Ted) Tarlton of Houston and by five grandchildren, Benjamin Dudley Tarlton V, Katherine Tarlton Hamilton, Vanessa Hauser, Rachel Tarlton, Genevieve Tarlton, and Gabriela Murillo, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Dolores will be dearly missed, and the fond memories she has left will be cherished by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, Missouri City on 21 February at 11:00 am, with a reception following.
