David Paul Thrasher of Needville, Texas passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59 on July 21st, 2021. He is survived by his wife Kim of 38 years; daughter Ashley Hanath (Troy) of Brenham; Grandkids: Shelby, Colby and Lacey Hanath of Brenham; brother Lee (Linda) Thrasher of Sealy; sisters Kimberlee (Nick) Woellert of Quincy, MI; Beverly Dixon of Witchita, KS; Nicole (Matt) Hedden of Marysville, WA; brother Don Laird of San Juan, Puerto Rico; Mother-in-law Jackie (Jose) Garcia of Houston, father in-law Fred Morgan of San Antonio TX.
TX; Sister-in-law’s Sharla (Philip) Weindorff of Houston, TX; Tami Rucker of CO; Denise Thrasher of Sioux Falls, SD; Brother-in-law’s James (Katie) Gibbons of Austin; Roy (Jessica) Gibbons of New Orleans, LA. Nieces and Nephews, Leslie Fontenot, Lonnie Thrasher, Ronnie Thrasher, Michael Thrasher, Bobby Thrasher, Seth Weindorff, Claire Weindorff, Megan Minter, Dalton Alexander, Donald Dixon, Chadd Dixon, Stephanie Dixon, Tiffany Ruland, JT Hedden and numerous great nieces and nephews.
David worked with his dad (Vernon Rusty Thrasher) when he was younger hanging steel. He later worked hauling glass, window and door frames all over Houston and the surrounding areas. He moved to Valencia, CA to get to know his biological father Edward (Monty) Paul Laird, who was a stuntman. A move to Alaska in 1989 is where he learned roofing, remodeling and carpentry. Everyone would agree that he was very handy to have around. He moved back to Texas in 1998 and worked construction until he got a job with Iron Mountain. He really enjoyed his time there. David loved riding horses and motorcycles and spending time with family.
He is preceded in Death by his Grandparents: Esther and Frank Green; Lloyd and Margaret Finch; Parents: Rose Ann (Hal) Smullen and Vernon Rusty Thrasher; Edward Paul (Monty) Laird; a brother, Michael Thrasher.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 7th, 2021 at 4pm at St Michael's Life Center 9214 Main St, Needville, TX 77461
