Anita Claire McNamara, age 86 formerly of Huntington, NY, and Murray, KY, beloved wife of the late James J. McNamara passed away peacefully on August 21, 2014 surrounded by family in Sugar Land, TX. Born in New York City, NY the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Smith, she resided in Huntington, NY for more than 40 years. Mrs. McNamara worked for BOAC prior to raising her family. She was a passionate gardener and enjoyed travelling and volunteer work with Hospice AIDS patients in the early 70’s. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She is survived by her brother, Robert L.(Jean) Smith of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, and children Elizabeth Cramp of Amherst, NH , Ruth McNamara of Newmarket, NH, Scott (Laurie) McNamara of Richmond, TX and Edmund (Rose) McNamara of Stamford, CT.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will observe a private service.
