Joe loved the water, spending summers growing up at Long Beach Island and was a lifeguard on the Jersey Shore. After high school he went to college at Villanova University where he played football and graduated in 1979, then went on to get his MBA from Rollins College.
After graduating college, Joe went to work for Stouffers/Nestle and was there for 23 years rising to the position of VP of Marketing, and then went to work for Pinnacle Foods. He developed a great passion for golf and was also known for coaching youth basketball in Pinellas County for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A head injury he suffered in 2016 forced his retirement from Pinnacle Foods, and he was diagnosed with Aphasia which he struggled with until his death. During the final years of his life, he became known to his family and friends as “Joey Cheesesteaks” and spent his time at favorite restaurants Gratzzi Italian Grille and Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro in downtown St. Petersburg. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he attended daily Mass and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister.
He leaves behind, the great loves in his life, his two children, Jake (Chicago), Taylor “Stinks” (Atlanta) and his granddog peagle Reese (RC) who was his side kick, along with his former wife Richelle “Shelly” Rohrman Posch, his three sisters and spouses, Tracy (Jim) Bloom, Melissa (Eric) Kohler, Pamela (Ted) Roberts and four nephews and two nieces. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Barbara and his brother Jon Posch.
