Vivian E. Forsberg (nee Hartung), age 94 of Maplewood. Born February 22, 1928 in St. Cloud, MN, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 in Maplewood. Lovingly survived by son, Alan (Karen); daughters, Elizabeth Hintze and Emily (Chuck) Wenstad; grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Andrew, Rebecca, Jenny, Bethany, Matthew and Anthony, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by loving husband, John; son-in-law Joseph Hintze; parents, John and Susan Hartung; and brother, Albin; along with her closest in-laws, Jean and Reed Burch, Evelyn (Albin) Hartung, and Drusilla and Robert Wesch.
She was a former English teacher before marrying John when she became a stay-at-home mother to her children, devoting her time to her family, church, many charities, and worthy causes such as Help Each Other (HEO), The League of Women Voters and Maplewood Community Arts. She was actively involved in her church through volunteerism as well as through cards groups like Bridge and 500.
After her children were grown, Vivian went back to work at Sears in the credit department, where she loved her job and her corporate discount!
When she wasn’t working or devoting her time to charities and church, she avidly played golf and bowled. Vivian had a carefree spirit and was known for her hearty laugh, huge smile and endless compassion. She was a loving, devoted and caring mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were blessed by her spirit, vivaciousness, and love. She will be dearly missed by all.
Special thank you to the staff at Elk Ridge for taking such good care of her.
