Ted Schaff, 86, of Vadnais Heights, MN, passed away on October 7, 2023. He was born on May 3, 1937, in Mott, North Dakota. Ted, also known as Theodore D. Schaff, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Ted was a devoted Christian and an active member of St Stephen The Martyr in White Bear Lake. He found great joy in participating in numerous Bible studies and deepening his faith. Ted's commitment to his religious beliefs was a significant part of his life.
Outside of his spiritual pursuits, Ted had a passion for fishing. He eagerly joined a Bass fishing group to expand his knowledge and skills. Every year, he looked forward to his fishing trips to the Lake of the Woods, where he made cherished memories and reeled in impressive catches.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, and their six children: Jill (Schaff) Kleidon (Mark), Kari Schaff, Jennifer Schaff, Mitch Schaff (Ann), Alan Schaff, and Andrew Schaff (Christy). He was also a proud grandfather to Katie Kleidon, Joshua Kleidon, Theresa (Jake) Reeve, Nicholas Schaff, Adam Gerlach, Jacqui Gerlach, and many great-grandchildren. Ted also leaves behind his surviving sisters, Janice (Lester) Eslinger, Dorothy (Richard) Lencowski, and brothers James (Chawn) Schaff, Fred (Laura) Schaff, and Dave (Sue) Schaff.
A memorial service for Ted will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 1965 East County Road E, White Bear Lake, MN, with a visitation one hour prior. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Ted's life and pay their respects. A private inurnment with military honors will occur at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In honor of Ted's memory, his family kindly requests that any donations be made to a charity of your choice. Ted's legacy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will live on through his loved ones.
