Ronald Westberg Senior, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, with his wife Kathleen by his side. His family had surrounded him with love and prayers in the days preceding his passing.
Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 11, 1936. He moved with his family to Amberg, Wisconsin around the age of eight. Living in neighboring towns, Ron and his wife Kathleen were childhood sweethearts. They married in 1955 eventually moving to Saint Paul, Minnesota. Ron’s career was in the machinist trade retiring at the age of 64. From 1973 to 1985 he was also a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Maplewood fire department achieving rank of Captain.
The special bond that he had with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was enriched by his love of the woods and nature. He was a strict conservationist and instilled that in his family. You could often find him relaxing at his cabin enjoying life with family and his beloved dog Ebby.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen, and their three children: Ronald Jr (Dawn), Ricky (Jodie), and Lora Osterman (Pat). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Ronald lll (Lisa), Christina Kastl (Erin), Gina Anderson (Ryan), Mike Westberg (Amanda), Kate Hulkkonen (John), Erick Westberg (Ashley), and Patrick Osterman (Brooke). He was preceded in death by grandson Matthew Osterman, his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave, St. Paul, MN 55106, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
