Ron grew up in St. Paul with 5 siblings, Herbert, Malcolm, Richard and Patty. He attended Mechanic Arts high school. Following high school, he joined the Air Force for 4 years.
He went back to college at Rasmussen for accounting, where he was also a math tutor. This is how he met his wife, Bev. Ron was a math genius, Bev was not, and they were a perfect match.
Ron worked for Briggs Transportation until 1983 when they went bankrupt. He worked on raiding/tariffs and making sure everything was in compliance. After Briggs, he went to Advanced United in 1983 for a short time before he and Bev bought their ceramics business in 1981-1982. Ron was a hard worker, working long hours and making sure his family was taken care of. He was the numbers man and laborer for the ceramics business and did all the accounting. Ron poured and fired thousands of molds throughout the life of their business.
Ron loved his wife, Bev, family, the North Shore, camping-when kids were little and with their couples club, cribbage, Sudoku-he played every day, eating out-especially at the North Pole and Mancini’s, and loved cooking-known for his potato chip-thin sugar cookies.
He cared for the love of his life until the minute she passed away. He loved her and cared for her most beautifully, with dignity, respect, and love.
Ron adored his grandchildren, Grace and Max. He loved hearing about them and what they were up to. They were a pure joy for him.
The void he has left is deep but the impact he had on us is infinite.
Ron loved his Lord, our God. He was ready to go to his eternal home with Bev.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 1/2 years, Beverly.
Ron is survived by his children, Alan (Sherry) and Steve (Shannon); and grandchildren, Grace and Max.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Woodbury Lutheran Church, Woodbury with visitation beginning at 1 PM.
