We are deeply saddened by the loss of our mother who passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021, at the age of 77. Our mother grew up on the East Side of St. Paul with her cousins whom she adored. She graduated from Johnson High School in 1961. Her Italian/Finnish heritage inspired her passion for baking and cooking often at spontaneous gatherings initiated by her loving husband Richard. Karen and Richard were married for 51 years and enjoyed a lifetime of traveling the world together. They were blessed with three granddaughters who were the source of great pride and joy. We will miss her nurturing, loving compassion, her warm smile and contagious laugh. Forever loved and forever in our hearts.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Yolanda (Rulli) Latvala, husband Richard, infant son Richard, Jr. Survived by daughters Michelle Corbo (Dr. Paul Langer), Melissa Corbo, Noelle Corbo (Adam Schmidt); granddaughters Bianca Langer, Gianna Schmidt and Natalia Schmidt; brother-in-law Larry McDonald, sister-in-law Marge Corbo; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
