On Wednesday, April 3, Jim, loving husband to Ann (Rishavy) Sullivan passed away at age 63 due to complications from cardiac arrest.
Jim was born Oct. 11, 1957, in LeMars, Iowa and grew up in Alvord, Iowa. He spent most of his life in White Bear Lake. He was a kind, loving and caring husband who took great pleasure in dragging Ann grocery shopping (she hated it) and teaching her to cook (she loved that). He’ll be in her heart, always and forever.
Jim was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He loved to make people laugh. He loved conversation and would chat with anyone for hours. He loved to write screenplays, play guitar, listen to classic rock music and cook. He loved anything NASA and SpaceX related, and would give his family and friends personal tours of Kennedy Space Center. Jim was so well read and knowledgeable, no one could beat him at trivia. He quietly gave his time, energy and money to many. He was part of the 1998 Winter Carnival Family and Vulcan Krewe. During one of their many community events, the Krewe visited the Children’s Hospital where Jim brought so much light, laughter and joy to the kids. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by wife of 22 years, Ann (Rishavy), feline kids Sammy, Peepers and Goose; Father, Robert Sullivan; siblings Tom (Kim) Sullivan and Sue (Dave) Berg; inlaws Carol & Mark Ponsolle, Bob & Sue Rishavy, Mike & Pat Rishavy. Jim considered his many nieces & nephews as his own kids. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis, brother John and sister Laurie.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 6 p.m. We invite you to join this Celebration through LIVESTREAM on Jim's Facebook Page. A summer celebration of life will be held in Alvord. Details pending.
