James Edwin Fanslow

James was born on January 20, 1935 in Yankton, South Dakota to Gertrude and Francis Fanslow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Robert.

James is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Corinne; children Anne (David) Book, Michael (Elizabeth Brantley) Fanslow, Mark (Annie/Meyan Sun-Fanslow) Fanslow, and David (Sarah) Fanslow; grandchildren Peter and Katherine Book, Quinn, Rowenna, and Liam Kelley, Lucy Fanslow, and Fair/Zihui Yun; and brother Donald Fanslow.

Dad was deeply committed to his Catholic faith and serving the community. He volunteered with his parish and community organizations like Bridging. Dad loved simple pleasures like reading the newspaper, setting off fireworks, eating pizza and taking us kids swimming at the lake or sledding in the winter. He taught us all to live a life full of gratitude, generosity and kindness.

A Mass of Christian Burial at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Maplewood, MN will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11 am, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at 2pm at Resurrection Cemetery.
